Teach in Shenyang

One of the top reasons students are interested in becoming interns is to gain a wider cultural and educational experience outside of the classroom while also earning college credit towards a degree. In most instances, this is highly encouraged by colleges, universities and professors.

The opportunity to teach overseas is a rewarding and challenging experience. Living in a different culture and working with a diverse range of people from all over the world can provide a rewarding and life changing experience for both your personal and professional satisfaction. USIEC is offering American students the opportunity to intern as an English teacher for pre-school students in Shenyang over a three or six month term.

College credit is given at the discretion of each respective college or university. Be sure to speak with a coordinator or your department chair person before beginning the internship to arrange proper credit. Your professor can further help you navigate the credit transfer process, and may serve as an advisor for any additional work or papers that you have to write during your internship. USIEC is able to provide a letter certifying participation in the program and any other information, should the university request it.

Currently, USIEC has been authorized to recruit college level students to teach at one of many pre-schools in Shenyang. One example is Shangpin Kindergarten. It was founded as the standard of a campus school combining both domestic and international advanced education theories of teaching and is known for its academic excellence. The kindergarten is equipped with modern education facilities. It covers approximately 6000 sq meters with 12 classrooms and can accommodate 300 children. There are 50 people working here including 42 teachers. The student to teacher ratio is 1 to 10.
